Cell Design

A concept to design an effective work area for flow. What you can achieve is a well laid out work area that promotes flow. Start by preparing a Spaghetti diagram of the current state; brainstorm improvements; spaghetti diagram the improvements; lay machines / workstations out in the order of the process (no room for excess material to accumulate); mock up the new layout (true scale if possible); design point of use areas for tools, materials, etc.; ensure information flow has been considered. Have all cell members sign off on the new layout and implement the new cell design.
