A quick example of being conscious

Do you feel exhausted, stressed or tired? Do you feel that no one likes you or appreciates what you do? Do you need a kind word or touch? If this was a commercial then I would say the medicine or the answer would be Lean. People often say that they don’t know the meaning of life. They don’t feel good about themselves or their environment.  They ask:  what should I do with my life?

The answer I can give you might not make you happy at first. The answer is YOU. Don’t look any further. You are searching for the answer but you must start with yourself. Don’t blame your circumstances or other people for your unhappiness. Don’t hope that someone will help you. Don’t wait as all you’re doing is losing days or years to start doing something about your life. You are losing opportunities.

What is my advice? Find the root cause of your problem. How can you do this? There are several techniques but I recommend one of my favorites which is the 5Why term. It’s simple – ask Why at least 5 times to find a problem’s root cause.  Here’s an example:

  • I feel exhausted.
  • Why?
  • Because I work too much.
  • Why do you work too much?
  • Because I get a lot of work from my boss and it never ends
  • Why?
  • He doesn’t want to work
  • Why?
  • Because he’s not motivated

Another example:

  • I feel lonely
  • Why?
  • Because I don’t have a boyfriend
  • Why not?
  • Because I don’t go to places where boys are
  • Why not?
  • Because I am shy
  • Why?
  • Because I am not self-confident and I feel that I will be embarrassed

Example 3:

  • My life doesn’t have meaning
  • Why not?
  • Because it doesn’t matter for anyone if I live or not
  • Why not?
  • Because no one recognizes me so I feel useless
  • Why?
  • Because I don’t get appreciation or love

Life can be very tough but when you find the root cause then you can make a plan to overcome a problem. Without identifying the real problem you can’t make any changes or improvements. You don’t know what needs to be changed. You need to see things holistically as everything is linked. You need to be very open- minded or willing to change. You are the one who can change your life. Start practicing and you’ll see that you already have the answer to those questions which are really bothering you. Get to the root cause of a problem, be conscious and make a change for good. You will find happiness.
