A quick example of being conscious

Feeling hopeless

I recently got the flu so my nose was running heavily. I always keep a box of tissues on the kitchen table. While I was writing another article about being effective, eliminating waste, excessive motion, etc. I realized after more than 4 hours that I had been getting up every 10 minutes to go to the kitchen and get a tissue for my runny nose. I went back to the couch every time and continued the article. I did this unconsciously. After 4 hours an idea came to my mind asking why I didn’t  move my tissue box. I realized that I had walked back and forth to the kitchen for tissues many times without even thinking of this excessive waste. Of course after this I moved the tissue box next to me on the couch. It was so simple! I’m mentioning this example because we do hundreds of things like this without recognizing the waste. Even if you have a Lean mindset you can still occasionally find yourself in such a situation. Stop sometimes and think before you act. Don’t do the same routine for a long time without sometimes questioning it.
